West Zone batsman and Chennai Super Kings captain Rituraj Gaikwad played a memorable innings in the second semi -finals of the Dalip Trophy 2025 being played at the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground in Bangalore. His innings made the West Zone team out of a difficult situation and brought it to a strong position. Rituraj Gaikwad set up a boundary during this time, but in the end something happened to him that broke his heart on the match.

West Zone team won the toss in this match and decided to bat first. But the beginning was not according to their expectations. West Zone lost his first two wickets for just 10 runs. After this, Rituraj Gaikwad entered the ground and not only did he work to handle the innings, but also scored at a fast pace. He completed his half -century, facing 72 balls. At the same time, he faced only 131 balls to reach a century.

Rituraj Gaikwad did not stop here, he also reached the score of 150 runs. He was well frozen at the crease and was moving towards his double century. But after scoring 184 runs, he lost his wicket on a brilliant ball of Jain. Due to which he remained just 16 runs away from the double century. Gaikwad faced a total of 206 balls during his innings. The most important thing about this innings of Rituraj Gaikwad was that he scored runs against a strong batting lineup. Apart from Jain, the team of Central Zone includes star bowlers like Khalil Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Yash Thakur and Harsh Dubey. But Rituraj Gaikwad scored fiercely against all these bowlers. He scored the highest 55 runs against Jain and 48 runs against Harsh Dubey. He also scored more than 20 runs against the remaining three bowlers.
