Even though the batsmen are very dominated by cricket and they get a lot of accolades. But whenever a bowler equals himself with a batsman, he is something else. Especially when a bowler is constantly killed and the next moment he turns the game, then it is worth seeing. Something similar happened in the third Test match between India and England at Lord’s, where Indian Pacer Akash Deep proved England star batsman Harry Brook as clumsy.
Harry Brook attacked
On July 13, the fourth day game was played in the Test match and in the first session, Team India bowlers dominated England. Mohammad Siraj had put England in trouble with 2 and Nitish Kumar Reddy with one wicket. But despite this, the wicket of English batsman Harry Brook was left, who came to the crease after 3 batsmen were dismissed. After playing for some time, Brook started attacking and the game started here.
Even before this Test match, Harry Brook replaced the number-1 batsman in the ICC Test rankings. In such a situation, England hoped from him that he would be able to handle the team trapped in trouble. For this, Brook started adopting aggressive attitude and then targeted Akash Deep. Brook played two consecutive scoop shots on the last 3 balls of an over of Indian pace and collects fours. Then on the last ball, he hit a six over the long off.
But Akash Deep took revenge
This would have shown a ray of hope to England, while Akash would have put pressure on the lamp as he failed in the first innings of the Lord’s Test after Edgbaston’s amazing. The second innings was also not proving good for him. But this is where Akash did the work that is the most basic need for every bowler- bowling on the stump line. He did the same in his next over, while Brook tried to play in the style of the previous over and this time he went to play a sweep shot against Pesar. His attempt failed and Akash uprooted the middle stump and returned him to the pavilion.
‘Pride’ got punished
The English fans and commentators did not like the play of Harry Brook in this way and he blows fiercely of this clumsy style of Brook. The great Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara did not spare the English batsman at all and criticized him during the commentary. Sangakkara described it as pride of Brook and said that this is not a badge. Referring to the previous over, he said that Brook had already scored 15 runs and despite this he played this cheap shot which shows his pride.
