The Asia Cup 2025 tournament starts from 9 September and its final match will be played on 28 September. All the fans are eagerly waiting for this tournament. The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format due to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. So far, Team India has not been announced for this tournament, but the Indian board will soon take a decision regarding this. The same question is arising in the minds of the fans that which will be the players who will be included in the Asia Cup Team India. Some of these Indian players can be those who have done very well in IPL 2025 but still they will not get a chance for the Asia Cup. Know about 5 such players.
KL Rahul
Playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025, KL Rahul performed a bang and scored 539 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 149.72. In any batting order he was given a chance, Rahul batted with a bang. However, there may be a lot of trouble for the Indian selectors about the choice of wicketkeeper. This is because the team also has Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurlel as wicketkeeper. Talking about Rahul, he played his last T20 in 2022 and since then the T20 team has included young and aggressive top order batsmen.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 559 runs at a strike rate of 159.71 in 14 matches playing for Rajasthan Royals. He was the seventh highest run -scorer in the tournament. However, for some time, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson have taken the responsibility of the opening of Team India. Shubman Gill can also be seen playing as an opener. Yashasvi is being given more importance in Test format. Not only this, the team has many other options as an opener. In the Asia Cup 2025, Yashasvi can be rested and he can be seen playing in a two -match Test series against the West Indies which starts from October 2.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer scored 650 runs in IPL 2025, playing for Punjab Kings. He also captained the team and gave Punjab Kings a place in the final. However, Shreyas Iyer’s dream of playing in the Asia Cup 2025 could be broken. Actually, India’s middle order has many great players including Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dubey, Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh. In such a situation, Iyer can be ignored for this tournament.
Sai Sudarshan
The Indian Premier League 2025 was completely named after Sai Sudarshan. He scored 759 runs in 15 matches this season at a strike rate of 156.17. He had a century and six half -centuries. Sudarshan batted aggressively against fast bowlers as well as spinners. Only an experienced player will be given a chance at number three in T20 format. Even though Tilak Verma is a very young player, he has more experience of playing in international cricket than Sudarshan. In Tilak Verma or Suryakumar Yadav, one player can be seen playing at number three and in such a situation, Sudarshan will have to wait for his turn to come.
Jaspreet Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has been constantly injured for a long time and due to this, a lot of attention is being paid to his workload. He did very well in the Indian Premier League. Team India played a 5 -match Test series against England in which Bumrah took part in just three matches.
They can be rested in the Asia Cup. This is because India has to play a two -match Test series against the West Indies immediately after the end of this tournament. Bumrah is a player of all formats for Team India and the Indian board would like that fast bowlers should participate in the Test format as much as possible.
