Team India’s wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson will be focused on the preparations for the Asia Cup 2025, but some of the Indian Premier League teams are eyeing them. Samson, who has been commanding Rajasthan Royals for the last 5 seasons in the IPL, has now made up his mind to end his journey with this franchise. For several days, it has been discussed that he is expecting a place in another team in the trading window before the auction, in which Chennai Super Kings are considered to be the biggest contender. But in the meantime, 3 -time champion Kolkata Knight Riders have also taken their steps and have given Rajasthan the option to choose one of their 2 players instead of Sanju Samson.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson had to sit out in some matches due to injury in the IPL 2025 season, while in some matches he landed only for batting as impact player. During this time, Ryan Parag captained the team in his place. At that time, rumors of differences started flying in Sanju and Rajasthan Royals team management, but these rumors were approved during the trading window in the month of July. It was revealed in several reports that Samson told Rajasthan Royals his intentions and also requested them to trade or release them for the auction.
Chennai Super Kings had a constant eyes on Samson and one of his officials had openly said that he would like Samson in his team. But it seems difficult because according to reports, Rajasthan demanded players like Rituraj Gaikwad, Shivam Dubey and Ravindra Jadeja from CSK. This demand remained from fulfilling the CSK, so she is seen lagging behind in this race. In the midst of all this, Kolkata has also submitted its claim and has presented the names of its 2 players in front of Rajasthan and has proposed to choose one of them from the franchise.
A report by Kolkata newspaper Anand Bazar Patrika claimed that Kolkata Knight Riders, owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, have expressed their desire to join Sanju Samson. For this, Kolkata has given him the option to choose one of the top order young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Finisher Ramandeep Singh. The report states that Kolkata will not be ready to trade both the players. While Samson retained by Rajasthan for 18 crores, Kolkata introduced Angkrish with 3 crore and Ramandeep for 4 crores. In such a situation, if this trade is done, then Kolkata will have to pay an additional Rs 14-15 crore to Rajasthan.
