The Asia Cup 2025 is going to be held in the United Arab Emirates from 9 to 28 September. This time a total of 8 teams are participating in this tournament being played in T20 format. It is considered to be a very important tournament according to the next year’s T20 World Cup, which will give every team including India to prepare for the tournament. But after this Asia Cup, there is going to be a special series, which will not be less than a small Asia Cup. This series will be organized in Pakistan, in which Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will also participate. This will be the first time that T20 series of 3 countries will be played in Pakistan.
Series from 17 to 29 November
On Sunday, September 7, 2 days before the Asia Cup 2025 started, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this series. This series will last for 13 days, in which these three teams taking part in the Asia Cup will collide. All three teams are also part of the T20 World Cup next year. The series will be held in November and will start on November 17, while the final match will be played on 29 November. According to the Pakistani board, in this series, the three teams will hit each other 2-2 times and then 2 teams will reach the finals.
Announcing this series, Chief Operating Officer of PCB, Sumair Ahmed said that for the first time such T20 series will be organized in Pakistan, which will not only be important for the preparation of the World Cup but will also have different experiences for the fans in terms of entertainment. A total of 7 matches will be played, including the final of the series and all these matches will be held in only two venue, Lahore and Rawalpindi. The series will begin in Rawalpindi and end in Lahore.
Afghanistan will play for the first time
The first match will be played between Pakistan and Afghanistan on 17 November. With this, the Afghan team will play a T20 match on Pakistani land for the first time. Afghanistan had earlier played only 5 ODIs in Pakistan. In this way, this will be his first experience. However, the Sri Lankan team has played T20 matches in Pakistan before, so it is not going to have any new experience for it.
