In 2013, I made a distance from cricket as a player and after that I became the president of BCCI. Next to this, when Ganguly was asked whether he would coach India team if he gets a chance? Regarding this, he said, ‘Let’s see what happens next. I am 53 years old. Let’s see what happens. I do not mind this.
There is no interest in politics at all
There have been many speculations about Ganguly coming into politics, but they have denied it clearly. Ganguly again reiterated that he is not interested.
Gautam Gambhir’s coaching praised
Regarding the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, Ganguly said, ‘He is doing a very good job. Even though they have made a slow start against Australia and New Zealand, Team India has won the Champions Trophy in their coaching. The Test series being played against England will be very big. He is very passionate but I have not seen his plan closely because I have not worked with him as a coach yet.
Ganguly further said, ‘I have played with him. He is a very good player and he always respects people older than him. I would like to wish him a lot of best wishes for the series against England. In the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, Team India won the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. He defeated New Zealand in the final.
