The International Cricket Council has made major changes in some rules of the game. Some new rules have been implemented in cricket along with the new cycle of the World Test Championship, which started from 17 June. While changes such as the most discussed catch, stop clock and 2 balls in ODI cricket have been formed, there has been a change in the rules related to concentration, so that the player will not play for 7 days. The ICC has made it clear that if a player is subsidized during the match, then the injured player will not be able to return to the ground for at least the next 7 days.
The ICC announced to implement the Convention Rules in International Cricket exactly 6 years ago. Incidentally, this rule started earlier with the WTC cycle. There was a demand to implement the Convention Substitute Rules in cricket since the death of former Australian cricketer Phil Hughes. Under this rule, if any player gets hurt in the head or neck, if symptoms are found in the match, if there is a symptom of concentration, ignorance, clean appearance or headache, then that team can include another player instead of that player in the match.
The health and safety of the players was the most important reason behind the inclusion of this rule. But since the introduction of this rule, many such cases were seen, in which the affected team was taking advantage of some flaws of this rule. There were constant questions about this, after which the ICC has made major changes in the rule. The most important part of this is that any player who has a problem of concentration and is subsidized, he will have to wait for at least 7 days to return to the cricket field. That is, a player will not be able to return to the next match after 2 or 3 days after being out of the match, as has been seen yet.
Apart from this, an important change has also been made. The ICC has made it clear that from now on, every team will have to mention the names of 5 players along with playing XI before the match starts, out of which the Convention Substitute will be selected. It also requires a batsman, a wicketkeeper, a spinner, an all -rounder and a fast bowler among the five players.
