The owner of the company has an old relationship
Virat Kohli has invested a big investment of Rs 40 crore in Agilitas. It is a game of sports goods. The company started this company two years ago by Puma’s former India head Abhishek Ganguly. Abhishek has a very old relationship with Virat Kohli. Ganguly played an important role in bringing Kohli as the company’s brand ambassador as the India head of Puma India.
In the year 2017, Kohli had a contract of Rs 110 crore with Puma, this contract was till 2025. This year Puma tried to contract Virat Kohli again for Rs 300 crore, but Virat refused and joined with Agilitas. Apart from Virat, former cricketer Yuvraj Singh has also invested in this company. The company has raised around Rs 600 crore from many investors in less than two years.
Virat will be seen in a new role
According to reports, Virat Kohli will not only be a brand ambassador in his new role, but he will also play the role of the owner in the firm in Bangalore. Virat Kohli has been given about 3.6 lakh class 2 Compulsive Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS) in Agilitas. These will later turn into equity shares. According to reports, this investment is only part of the first phase. This legendary batsman of Team India will invest further in the company.
Agilitas plans to create a sports chain across the country. This will include everyone from manufacturing to retail. In the year 2023, Agilitas acquired Mochaico Shoes. The company makes shoes for brands such as Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Sketches, Reebok, Six, Crox, Decathalon, Clarkes and US Polo.
