The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi approved the National Sports Policy 2025 on Tuesday, July 1. This is a historical initiative towards changing the direction of the game and empowering citizens through sports. The new sports policy is a visionary and strategic roadmap to make India mastered sports superpower and mastered international sports events including 2036 Olympic Games. Sports programs will be strengthened
Under the new sports policy, strengthening sports programs from ground level to top level is a big goal. This involves identifying the talent of the players and pursuing them. Apart from this, development of sports infrastructure in rural and urban areas, planning for training, coaching and development of players is included. Under the new sports policy, special emphasis will be given on sports science, medicine to improve the performance of players. Coaches, technical officers and assistant employees will also be better educated.

International tournaments will be held in India
Under the new sports policy, organizing international tournaments in India is on the top priority. The importance of sports in schools will also be increased further. From school itself, children will be encouraged to make a career in sports. Making sports a national movement is a big goal in this policy. Fitness index will start in schools, colleges and offices, while the sports facilities will also be given importance to reach every corner.
