In England these days, the Indian cricket team and Indian players are popular. Apart from the Senior Men’s and Women’s team, India’s under-19 team has also been super hit and the biggest reason for this is 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has created history with their batting in the last 3-4 months. But Vaibhav, who herself, himself, also witnessed a historical event in England, which will be remembered forever in Indian cricket. Like crores of Indians, Vaibhav also witnessed the historic double century of Indian captain Shubman Gill in Edgbaston.

For the last several days, the Indian Under-19 team is also on a tour of England, where it is playing ODI series with England’s Under-19 team. After the first 3 matches of this series, the Indian team took a 2–1 lead. In these three matches, the batting of Vaibhav was seen. Especially in the third ODI, this batsman played a stormy innings and got 86 runs and won the team. A day after this victory, Vaibhav himself became a witness to history.

Gill’s historic innings witnesses in Edgbaston

In fact, Thursday 3 July was the second day of Edgbaston Test match between India and England. For this, the Indian Under-19 team was also called as a special guest among thousands of common spectators in Edgbaston. The entire Indian team, including Vaibhav Suryavanshi, was present in the stadium on the occasion, where besides him, BCCI’s Center of Excellence (Coe) chief and former veteran batsman VVS Laxman was also present.

Laxman had already become witnesses of many Tests in England, but this day was very special for the players of the Under-19 team including Vaibhav. For the first time he came to watch the Test match in England and made this day special for him by Team India captain Gill. Shubman Gill scored a historic double century on Edgbaston ground and took Team India to 587 runs. In this way Gill became the first Indian captain to score a Test double century in England.

Gill’s innings will be inspired for Vaibhav and team

Gill scored 269 runs. Many years ago, the way Sachin Tendulkar showed Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma’s generation to become a big batsman than his batting, then Kohli-Rohit inspired Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant. In the same way, this innings of Gill for Vaibhav and his comrades will also act as the same inspiration.
