The Indian team’s opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has made another record during the Edgbaston Test. During this, he has equaled former Indian captain Rahul Dravid and former opener Virender Sehwag, while master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar and star batsman Virat Kohli were left behind. Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved this place during the second innings of Edgbaston Test. Jaiswal is the second youngest Indian batsman to achieve this position in Test cricket. Yashasvi, who scored a brilliant century in the Leeds Test match, could not do anything special in the second innings of the second Test match, but took a record.
Which record did Yashasvi set?
Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the fastest Indian batsman to jointly score the fastest 2000 runs in Test cricket. During this, he has equaled former veteran batsmen of the Indian team Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag. Jaiswal made this achievement while scoring the 10th run in the second innings of Edgbaston Test match. However, he could not make his innings long and was dismissed by 28 runs in 22 balls. Yashasvi played a brilliant innings of 87 runs in the first innings.
Jaiswal completed 2000 runs in the 40th innings of Test cricket. Earlier, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag had completed 2000 runs in the same number of innings. Dravid achieved this feat against New Zealand in 1999 in Hamilton and Virender Sehwag in Chennai in 2004 against Australia.
