Captain hurt in the middle of the series
The England women’s cricket team has suffered a major setback in the ongoing five -match T20 series against India. The team’s captain and star all -rounder Nate Sear Bunt is out of the remaining matches of the series due to injury. In his place Hampashar’s talented batsman Maiya Boucher has been included in the team. Confirming this, the England Cricket Board (ECB) said that she will no longer be able to participate in this series due to a back-bunt back injury. However, it is expected that she will be fully fit for the upcoming ODI series.
This news is no less than a big shock for the England team running 2–1 in the series. Siva-Bunt captained the first two T20 matches, but India performed brilliantly and won the first match by 97 runs and the second by 24 runs. But his injury dropped him out of the third match. After which Tammy Beomont took charge of the team. Now in the last two matches of the series, Tammy will captain England of Beomont.
India’s strong position
India has performed brilliantly in this series so far. In the first T20, Smriti Mandhana’s century innings and half-centuries by Jemima Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur in the second match gave India a 2–0 lead. England won by winning the third match, but the absence of Sear-Brant could prove beneficial for India. The fourth match of the series between the two teams will be played on 9 July. At the same time, the last match will be held on 12 July.
