The tour of England has proved to be excellent for Team India captain Shubman Gill. His captaincy started with defeat but with a historic victory in the second Test, Gill returned Team India. Apart from this, he is also scoring continuously with his bat. But despite this, he was confused before the third Test match started at Lord’s and the captain himself revealed it during the toss. But what did Gill get confused about?
The third match of the Test series between India and England began on Thursday 10 July at Lord’s. With a stunning victory in Edgbaston Test match, Team India got up in this match with an increased courage. But in this match, the same thing happened to Gill, which was done with him in the last two matches. The Indian captain also lost the toss here and once again England captain Ben Stokes won.
Stokes got a chance to take a decision as soon as he won the toss and he chose batting first. Then as soon as Gill was asked about the toss and his choice, the Indian captain surprised him saying that he was confused. Gill said, “I was quite confused till this morning before the match what to do before. But I would win the toss and choose the bowling first. In the first session, there will definitely be something for the bowlers in the first session.”
As far as the decision is concerned, after the first day’s game, the choice of Stokes was seen to be correct. Apart from the previous two matches, England, leaving their style in this match, batted in a well-known way of Test cricket. England lost only 4 wickets throughout the day but scored 251 runs during this time, which looked completely different from the style of England’s explosive batting in the last 3 years. During this time Joe Root scored a great half -century and he returned an unbeaten pavilion one run before a century.
