The second day of the Lord’s Test match was named after Team India fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah. He took a new record by taking five wickets during England’s first innings. During this, he left behind former Indian captain Kapil Dev. England’s first innings was reduced to 387 runs due to Bumrah’s superb bowling. What was the dispute?
The controversy over the ball started in the 91st over. When Team India demanded to change the second new ball. The umpires agreed to change it and it was decided to change the ball only 10.3 over old. But instead of this, there was a ruckus on the ball given to Team India. The Indian team believed that the changed ball was quite old.
Captain Gill started arguing with the umpire during this time and even snatched the ball from the hand of the umpire. This debate was very sharp and Gill’s mercury was very high. He remained angry for a long time and after some time, both were seen getting entangled with the umpire again. Bumrah has taken five or more wickets for the 15th time in his career. Out of this, 13 times he has done this feat on foreign land. He has reached the top among the Indian bowlers in terms of taking five or more wickets in an innings of a Test on foreign soil after a blast in Lord’s. Before Bumrah, this record was recorded in the name of Kapil Dev. Kapil took five wickets in Tests on foreign soil 12 times. The third position in this list is Anil Kumble (10) and Ishant Sharma (9) on the fourth.
Bumrah’s dream is fulfilled
Jasprit Bumrah has taken the fifth five wicket hall against England. This is his best against any team. He has taken five wickets hall against Australia four times. Not only this, he has the most Test wickets against England. Jasprit Bumrah’s dream was also fulfilled as soon as he took five wickets against England.
