The World Championship of Legends (WCL) started 2025 with a victory. In the first match, he made a great start in this tournament by defeating England by 5 runs. Chasing the target of 161 runs, the England team could not score 15 runs in the last over and lost the match by 5 runs. England openers Sir Alastair Cook and James Vince returned to the pavilion cheaply. Although the second opener Phil Mustard held one end, he played 51 balls during his 58 -run innings. His slow innings was overshadowed by the team.

Ian Bell scored an unbeaten 51 in 35 balls. At the same time, captain Eoin Morgan scored an unbeaten 12 runs. Even after this, his team could score 155 runs despite losing just 3 wickets in 20 overs. From Pakistan, Ruman Raees, Sohail Tanveer and Amer Yamin took one wicket each.
