Hong Kong Cricket has created the new head coach of his team, Kaushal Silva, a former Sri Lankan player. Kaushal Silva made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2011 for Sri Lanka. He was part of the Sri Lankan team for 7 years and scored 2099 runs in 74 innings of 39 Test matches at an average of 28.36. He also scored 3 centuries and 12 half -centuries. He has participated in Test cricket only from Sri Lanka. Now Test players will be seen playing an important role in Hong Kong cricket team.

A total of 8 teams are divided into two groups in the Asia Cup 2025. Group A stars India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE while Group B has Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. Hong Kong has to play their first match against Afghanistan on 9 September, after which the team will play their second group stage match against Bangladesh on 11 September. The team will play their last league match against Sri Lanka on 15 September. Hong Kong would definitely like to give a tough competition to big teams in this tournament.
