In the second innings of the Manchester Test, Team India managed to save the match due to the combative performance of the batsmen. Even after the fourth Test match was over, England’s 2–1 lead was not affected, but Team India kept the hopes of ending the series on par. This result may have strengthened Team India’s spirits, but still head coach Gautam Gambhir has received important advice from former captain Sourav Ganguly before the last Test, who has asked to make a big change in the playing XI.
In the fourth Test match played at the Old Trafford Stadium, Team India batsmen batted for the last one and a half days and saved the match. But despite this, Indian bowling was under the scanner and this is because England scored a big score of 669 runs in the first innings without any hassle. This was the first time in the last 11 years, when in the foreign Test match, a score of more than 500 runs against Team India.
What did Ganguly advise Gambhir?
The big reason for this was the lack of edge in Team India’s bowling. Even star fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah failed. In such a situation, this situation should not be repeated in the last Test to be held at the Oval, for this, former Indian captain Ganguly has given important advice. He said in an interview, “I advise to me to feed Kuldeep Yadav in the fifth Test and choose the right bowling attack. If we (Team India) keep batting like this, we can win in the Oval.”
This demand has been made many times
Now the question is whether Gambhir will accept the advice of his former captain? The last match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is to be played from 31 July at the Kennington Oval Stadium in London. In this match, there are changes in Team India, but under this change, Kuldeep will get a chance in the playing XI? By the way, this is not the first time that Kuldeep has been demanded to be included. Former captain Sunil Gavaskar and Australian legend Michael Clarke have also been making such demands from the first Test match.
