Veteran batsmen of the Indian team Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have been doing very well in domestic cricket for a long time but they are not getting a chance in the international team. Both these players have done very well in international cricket and have played an important role in Team India’s victory. Now both these players have been excluded from Team India as well as another team. Actually, the Duleep Trophy 2025 schedule has been announced and both players have not got a chance in the West Zone team of this tournament.
Shardul Thakur was made captain
West Zone has announced its team for the Dalip Trophy 2025. The captaincy of the team has been given to Shardul Thakur while many dhakad players have been included in the West Zone. However, both Rahane and Pujara have been ignored. Talking about Cheteshwar Pujara, he played his previous match against Australia in 2023 for Team India. The experienced batsman played his previous first class match against Gujarat in February 2025 while he played the previous list a match against Sikkim on 5 December 2023.
Talking about Ajinkya Rahane, he played his last match against West Indies in 2023, while he played his last match against Vidarbha in 2025 for Mumbai. Both players have not got a chance from Team India for a long time and now they will also be disappointed that they have not been included in the West Zone team in the Duleep Trophy 2025.
Tournament starting from August 28
The Duleep Trophy 2025 starts from August 28 and its final match will be played on 15 September. This tournament will be played in the Inter Zonal format this year. A total of 6 zones will participate in it and all the players will be expected to perform strong performance. Talking about the West Zone team, apart from Shardul Thakur, many best players including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan Rituraj Gaikwad have been included.
