The Board of Control for Cricket in London has shared a big update amidst the fifth Test match between India and England at Kennington Oval. Before the second day of the match, the BCCI shared a post on social media and told that a star player of the team has been released from the squad. This player was also not included in the playing 11 for the Oval Test.

BCCI announced a big announcement

Team India star fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah has been released from the team in the middle of this Test match. The BCCI has decided to release Bumrah keeping in mind his workload. Bumrah participated in a total of three Tests in this series and performed brilliantly. He took 14 wickets and remained the backbone of the Indian bowling attack. However, the fourth Test played in Manchester saw a decrease in his bowling speed, after which the medical team advised him to relax.

Before this series, it was decided that Bumrah would play only three Test matches out of five. BCCI and team management do not want to take any risk in view of his old back injury. In the Oval Test, his place has been given a chance to fast bowler Akash Deep, who is returning from the injury.

Bumrah’s performance in the series

Jasprit Bumrah troubled the England batsmen with his bowling in this Test series. He participated in Handingley, Lords and Manchester Tests, where his exact yorker and swing made difficulties for the batsmen. Even though he took only two wickets by throwing 33 overs in the Manchester Test, his presence strengthened Indian bowling. Where the match was over on the draw. Let me tell you, India is currently behind 1-2 in the Test series and is trying to equalize the series by winning the Oval Test by 2-2.
