The Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 starts from September 30 and this tournament will be played in India and Sri Lanka. In this tournament, all the teams will try to perform well and for this New Zealand has started practicing from now on. New Zealand team has reached India a month and a half before the World Cup and they have started to carry out their preparations by setting up a practice camp. The special thing is that New Zealand players were seen preparing for this tournament at Chennai Super Kings Academy.

New Zealand has organized a two -week camp at Chennai Super Kings Academy in Chennai for the Women’s ODI World Cup to be played in India and Sri Lanka. Actually, spinners get a lot of help in Chennai and that is why they have taken this important decision. After the end of this camp, New Zealand players and staff will return to their homes and then they have to play ODI series against England in Dubai. Spinners also get a lot of help in Dubai.
New Zealand Women’s Cricket Team head coach Ben Sawyer told ESPN Cricinfo, “It is cold in New Zealand at this time and no cricket is being played there. We had 2 months for the World Cup and that is why we planned to come to India. We have come here with seven contracted players and we have also given a chance to all our choice players. This is expected.
For New Zealand, Jess Karrr, Georgia Qimar, Brook Halids, Ijji Sharp, Flora Divonsher and Emma McLeods are practicing in India. Izji Sharp, Flora Divonsher and Emma McLeod have been included in the team as emerging players.

India’s spinner Asha Shobhana is a part of this camp. This was revealed by New Zealand’s head coach Ben Sawyer himself. He told that the players of New Zealand got to learn a lot from Asha Shobhana. Asha is part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the Women’s Premier League.
Talking about New Zealand, she has to play her first match of ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 against Australia on 1 October. The team has to play the match against India on 23 October. This match will be played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The first semi -final of this tournament will be held on October 29 while the second semi -final will be played on 30 October. The final match will be held on 2 November.
