Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam’s bad phase is not taking its name. Till about 2 years ago, Babar Azam, which was being compared to veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Joe Root, is not being proved to be the best batsmen in the Pakistani team at the moment. Babar Azam, who returned to international cricket after more than four months, could not do anything special again and was dismissed without opening an account within 3 balls in the second ODI against the West Indies.
The Pakistani team, who won the T20 series on the West Indies tour, also won the first match of the ODI series. Babur was not a part of the T20 series but he landed on the field in the first ODI. In the first match, Babur scored 47 runs while playing a good innings and it seemed that he would play a big innings in the second ODI, keeping this rhythm. But what was seen on Sunday 10 August at Brian Lara Stadium in Taroba proved to be the opposite of the hopes of the Pakistani team, its fans and Babur himself.
Babur could not open an account
In the second match of the series, the Pakistani team came out for the first batting and the West Indies’ pace attack did not allow them to score open from the beginning. Then came the 9th over, in which Pakistan got two shocks. Fast bowler Jayden Seals dismissed Symam Ayub on the third ball of the over, after which Babar Azam landed at the crease. Babur defended the first 2 balls but failed badly in an attempt to flick the third ball and became bold. Babur did not even get air and his stumps were shattered.

71 innings did not score a century
In this way, Babar Azam returned to the pavilion without opening the account. This was the 5th chance in the ODI career of the 133 match of Pakistani star, when he was out at 0. Due to Babur being dismissed without scoring this way, the process of plight that has been going on for the last nearly 2 years could not break again. In fact, this was the 71st consecutive innings in international cricket in more than 23 months, in which Babur could not reach a century. His last century came against Nepal in the Asia Cup on 30 August 2023. But since then he has failed to reach this hundred.
