The Indian Premier League 2026 season will be known, it will be known only after a few months, but it remains a lot of glory before that. The reason for this is the trading window, in which there are reports of some big players leaving their team. The name of former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is also going on in it, who is part of Chennai Super Kings. It is being told that Ashwin has demanded clarity from his franchise about his role in the next season.
In the first season of IPL in 2008, Ashwin made his debut for Chennai and after this, till 2015 was a part of this team. Then after being separated from the team for 9 seasons, Chennai once again bought them by bidding more than Rs 9 crore in the 2025 mega auction. There was a lot of enthusiasm in the CSK about Ashwin’s return, but the previous season proved to be very bad for both.
Why did Ashwin ask this question?
But will Ashwin and Chennai be supported in the next season too? This question has been maintained for some time because a report has claimed that Ashwin has asked the franchise about his role. According to the report of ESPN-Cricinfo, Ashwin has told the CSK management that how the franchise wants to use them in the next season, it should be clearly told about it. The veteran bowler has also clearly told from his behalf that if he does not fit in the team’s plan, then he has no problem in separating from the franchise.
CSK did not return well
Ashwin was bought by CSK in the last mega auction for Rs 9.75 crore. But in this season, he was able to play only 9 matches and only 7 wickets also came. At the same time, the runs were also able to score only 33. During this time, CSK fans also did not look happy with his performance and there was a constant demand that he should be released before the next season. Now whether Ashwin will be part of CSK in the next season, it is expected to be clear in the next few weeks.
