PCB has recently given a big statement about Pakistan’s veteran batsman Babar Azam. The Pakistan Cricket Board has recently announced that Babar Azam is not needed in Pakistan’s T20 team at the moment. After his decision, now Babar Azam will be seen playing for a new team. This new team is the franchise of the Big Bash League. The experienced batsman can be seen batting brilliantly with his new team in the 15th season of the Big Bash League.
Babar Azam will join the new team
Babar Azam will be seen playing for Sydney Sixers in the upcoming season of Big Bash League. Sydney Sixers have announced this on their official social media account. Babur is going to participate in this tournament for the first time. The best batsman was given a place in his team by Sydney Sixers as a pre-draft signing. The draft of foreign players has been scheduled on June 19.

According to the League rule, all the Big Bash can sign an international player before the league franchise draft. Apart from Babar Azam, many powerful players including Steve Smith, Jack Edwards, Ben Dvarshuis, Sean Abtat, Joel Paris, Mozes Henriques can be seen performing tremendously in the upcoming season in this team.

However, the name of all these players is included in the foreign draft next week and everything will depend on whether a team selects them there. Babar Azam has a lot of experience in playing in T20 cricket. He has played 320 matches so far and recently he captained Peshawar Jalmi in Pakistan Super League 2025. Peshawar Jalmi’s performance was very poor this season. But Babur scored the most runs for Jalmi. He scored 288 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate above 128.
