Now he has shown his light in rugby after cricket. The 19 -year -old young player has brought the South African team to the finals in the 2025 World Rugby Under 20 Championships in Italy.

Norton participated in the Under-19 World Cup 2024 as a fast bowler all-rounder for the South Africa team. He took 13 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 22.23. He also had a 4 wicket hall in his name. Talking about batting, he scored 116 runs at an average of 38.66. His best score was 41 runs not out. Due to his performance, the youth team of South Africa traveled to the semi -finals.

South Africa performed strongly under the captaincy of Riley Norton at the 2025 World Rugby Under-20 Championship. He defeated Australia 73–17 in the group stage while winning 32-22 against former champions England. Not only this, he defeated Scotland 73-14. In the semi-finals, he defeated Argentina 48-24. Now the team has to play the final match against New Zealand on 20 July.

Norton’s father has also been a rugby player. He is following the footsteps of his father Chris Norton. His father was part of the Mattiz Rugby from 1991 to 2003. Riley also joined the Matties Rugby, earning a B.Com Investment Management degree at the University of Stalalbash University this year.
