Aiden Markram Century WTC Final 2025 : South Africa’s star opener Aidan Markram has scored a memorable century in the final of the World Test Championship. Chasing the target from Australia, Markram completed his century on the third day of the match. In this final being played at Lord’s, Markram scored this memorable century in the second innings of the match and brought the team to a strong position. Markram completed this historic century by collecting the best four before the third day’s play was over. This is the 8th century of Markram’s career and it brought South Africa closer to victory.
On the first and second day of the WTC final, where the lives of the batsmen had become difficult, the bowlers had to struggle on the third day. South Africa took the most advantage of this, which got a difficult target of 282 runs to win this final. On such an occasion, South Africa needed to bat well with his top order and Markram did the same thing. Markram then completed his century in 156 balls just before the last over of the day. This is the 8th of his Test career and the third century in the fourth innings of the match. The special thing is that he has become only the third batsman to score a century in the final of the World Test Championship. Prior to that, this amazing was done by Steve Smith and Travis Head of Australia in the last final.

Markram brought the team to the best position by the end of the third day on the basis of this century. South Africa ended the third day at the score of 213 runs for just 2 wickets. In this innings, Markram also got good support from other batsmen. Opener Ryan Ricelton was dismissed for just 6 runs, but Vian Mulder, who came to batting at number three, formed a good partnership with Markram. Together, both of them got a 61 -run partnership for the second wicket and gave the team a strong start. Markram then shared a memorable partnership with captain Temba Bavuma. Both shared a 143 -run partnership without being dismissed by the end of the third day. Bavuma also hit a great half -century.
