Indian journalist attacked after Lord’s Test
Indian sports journalist Sahil Malhotra, who is covering the Indo-England Test series (Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy) in London, was spending time near the Tower Bridge with his colleagues after the third Test at Lord’s. At around 12 o’clock in the night, when he landed at the Northwick Park station, the road to his residence was quite deserted and he was alone. While moving towards Lulworth Avenue, five youths stopped him, who covered his face with a mask.
Robbery attempt failed
The Indian sports journalist told that one of these people asked for his camera, while the other tried to get a smartwatch from him. Sensing the situation, the Indian sports journalist immediately picked up the tripod of his camera and pushed the attackers back, using it as a weapon. Subsequently, he ran fast and reached a nearby road, where he called his colleague. This journalist had a lot of expensive items, which included a laptop, two mobile phones and some personal items.
As soon as the Indian journalist informed his colleague about the incident, he immediately arrived to help him. His presence helped to calm the Indian journalist, and he returned to his residence together. The Indian journalist said that he is still in shock, because it was a case of a looting or escape from a terrible situation.
