Badminton action will be seen in Goa for 4 days, Inter-State West Zone Championship will start from September 3

Goa, who attracts tourists from all over the world for its beautiful sea edges, is now going to witness the thrill of badminton. The prestigious Yonex Sunrise Inter-State West Zone Badminton Championship is going to be held in the capital Panaji from 3 to 6 September 2025 and the state is fully ready to host it. Many big players from West Zone will participate in this championship being organized by Badminton Association of India. It will see a tough and exciting competition between Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa.

There will be tremendous action for 4 days

The tournament will begin on 3 September at Panaji’s Campal Indoor Stadium, with a quarterfinal and semi -finals in junior boys, junior girls, men’s and women’s team sections. They will start from 9:30 am. The team championship finals will be held on September 4 at 9:30 am. Subsequently, the individual events of singles, doubles and mixed doubles will start from 2:30 pm on September 4, which will end with the final on September 6 from 9:00 am.

These big names will participate in the tournament

This championship is going to be special because in it many famous shutthers from the West Zone will present their claim. Raunak Chauhan of Chhattisgarh (rank 4 in Junior Boys and Mains Singles), Sarvesh Yadav of Maharashtra (rank 7 in Junior Boys Singles), Dev Ruparelia of Maharashtra (number-1 in U-17 Boys Singles), Tarini Suri (Junior Girls Singles Rank 2), Tanu Chandra of Chhattisgarh (Junior Girls Singles), India Rank 3) Names like Darshan Pujari (India rank 5) and Tasnim Mir of Gujarat, will enhance the glory of this tournament.

Manoj Patil, president of Goa Badminton Association, described the event as a proud moment for his state as it is happening on the 60th anniversary. Talking about its importance, he said, “It is a matter of pride for us to host this championship on the 60th anniversary of Goa Badminton Association. The presence of top ranked players of West Zone will be a source of performance in the event and will inspire our growing players.”

On the preparations for the Goa team, Goa Badminton Association Secretary Praveen Shenoy said, “Our Goa teams are working hard under the supervision of coach Navneet Nasnodkar and Anoop Kushwaha. The players are excited to showcase their talent against the strong teams in the Western region, and we expect a great performance.”
