IPL made a big contribution
According to the report of The Hindu Business Line, BCCI earned Rs 9741.7 crore in the financial year 2023-24. Out of this, IPL alone earned Rs 5761 crore. Not only this, the board earned only Rs 987 crore from interest in the last financial year. During this time, he has received Rs 1,042 crore from the International Cricket Council (ICC) distribution. Not only this, BCCI also helps a lot from organizing a big tournament like Ranji Trophy, Dalip Trophy or CK Naidu Trophy to increase revenue in addition to IPL. The board also benefits greatly from all these domestic tournaments. You can guess this from the fact that the board has a reserve of about 30 thousand crores.
WPL also benefited
BCCI also started the Women’s Premier League (WPL) after the success of IPL. He earned Rs 378 crore from its 2023-24 season. Apart from this, when the Indian team goes to play cricket in other countries, they also earn. The board has earned Rs 361 crore from the tour of the men’s cricket team.
