There was a Manchester Test draw between England and India. In this match, the players of Team India performed strongly, due to which England could not make the match in their name and the match was drawn. However, in this match, Rishabh Pant of the Indian team was batting and suffered a leg injury on the first day of the game. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that this injury is very serious and it is difficult to bat again. But despite this, he came out to bat on the second day of the game and made a great half -century for his team. Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir gave his statement about Rishabh Pant and replacement option, on which English Test captain Ben Stokes made fun of Gambhir fiercely.

The biggest thing about this match was that Rishabh Pant came out to bat despite being injured. According to the rule, if a player has suffered such an injury, then another player cannot go down to bat in his place. Only one fielder can replace the fielder. After the end of the fourth Test, Gautam Gambhir said about this rule, ‘I fully agree to the replacement option of the players. If the umpire and match referee sees and feel that it is a serious injury, then I think it is very important. It is very important to have this rule that you can call a substitute player. If the injury is clearly visible, it should happen. If we played with 10 players instead of 11 players, the result could have been something else.
On this statement of Gautam Gambhir, Ben Stokes said, ‘I think it is absolutely absolutely absurd about the replacement due to injury. I think there will be a lot of flaws for the teams, which they will not be able to deal with. You choose your 11 players for a match and the injury is part of the game. I fully understand the convention replacement. The safety of the player is also necessary but I think the conversation should be stopped due to the injury regarding the replacement, because if you put me in the MRI scanner, I can immediately include someone else in the team. If you put someone else’s MRI scanner, the bowler will say, ‘Oh yes, there is a little swelling in your knee. Wow, we can include another new bowler in the team. I think this conversation should be stopped.
England is ahead in the series
Even though I have been a Manchester Test draw, England are 2–1 ahead of India in this Test series. Talking about the fourth Test, while batting first, India scored 358 runs in their first innings, in response to which England scored 669 runs. India scored 425 runs losing four wickets in their second innings, due to which Team India managed to draw the match. Team India batsmen batted amazing. Now the fifth and last Test between these two teams is starting from 31 July at Cannington Oval, London.
