Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 is going to start from 30 September. This tournament will be played in the host of India and Sri Lanka. Earlier, Team India also has to play ODI series against Australia. The Women’s Selection Committee headed by Neetu David announced the squad of the Indian team on August 19 itself. But now a big change has to be made in the team. Actually, a star wicketkeeper batsman has been out of the team due to injury, in such a situation, the BCCI has also announced a replacement.

Star player out of Team India

The Indian women’s team has suffered a major setback. The upcoming ODI series against Yastika Bhatia Australia and the ICC Women’s World Cup, which began earlier this month, has been ruled out of 2025. This decision has been taken after a knee injury during the preparation camp of the Indian women’s team running in Visakhapatnam. The Women’s Selection Committee has included Uma Chhetri in the squad in place of Yastika Bhatia.

The BCCI issued a press release stating that Yastika Bhatia suffered a left knee injury during training. The BCCI medical team is monitoring the injury of Yastika Bhatia and the team is wishing Yastika Bhatia to get well soon. Let me tell you, this is a big opportunity for Uma Chhetri, because she has not played a single match for Team India yet. In such a situation, she would like to take full advantage of this opportunity. At the same time, Uma Chhetri is now a part of the Indian team, so she will not be able to play for the India -A team, which is to participate in the practice match in the World Cup.
