Actually, this player has been selected in the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025, due to which he will not be part of the team in this big match. Team India’s star batsman Tilak Verma is out of the Dalip Trophy. In his place, Kerala batsman Mohammad Azharuddin has been appointed as the new captain of the South Zone in the semi -finals of the Dalip Trophy. Tilak Verma has been included in the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup, due to which he will not be able to participate in the Dalip Trophy. This semi -final match will start against the North Zone from 4 September at the BCCI Center of Excellence.

Azharuddin was the first vice -captain of South Zone, now he will take command of the team. In his place, the vice -captain is the responsibility of N. of Tamil Nadu. Jagadishan has been assigned. In addition, the South Zone has suffered another setback, as Tamil Nadu’s left -arm spinner R Sai Kishore is out of the semi -finals due to injury. Sai Kishore was not able to play in the recent Buchi Babu Trophy, because his hand injury has not been completely cured.

Entry in team of new players

South Zone has included two new players in its team. Puducherry’s left -arm spinner Ankit Sharma and Andhra Pradesh’s young batsman Sheikh Rashid have been named in the main team from the standby list. Rashid was recently included in his team by Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2025.
