The first session of the fifth day of the Leeds Test was the name of the England batsmen. Till lunch, England scored 117 runs without losing any wicket, which challenged the Indian bowlers. But in the last over thrown just before lunch, an incident between Mohammad Siraj and England batsman Jack Crolly created a hot atmosphere on the field. This incident was not only part of the sports strategy, but also highlighted the tension between the two teams.
Jack Croly
In the first session of the fifth day, England openers Jack Croly and Ben Docket performed brilliantly. Fast bowlers like Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and famous Krishna could not get any wickets in this session. The England batsmen not only faced the Indian bowling attack firmly, but also retained the run speed. But in this quiet and one -sided session, there was a ruckus in the last over.
Actually, Mohammad Siraj was throwing the last over just before lunch. The strategy of the Indian team was to throw another over before lunch time, so that the England batsmen could be pressurized. Siraj tried to complete this over early and ran fast on the runup to throw his last ball and proceeded to throw the last ball. Then the Jack Crolee, who was batting, deliberately withdrew from the crease. Actually, he did such a time so that India could not throw another over. He also managed to do so and Team India did not get another over.
Team India players erupted
This incident created displeasure in the Indian camp. Siraj, who is known for his aggression and passion, looked very unhappy with this action. Indian captain Shubman Gill and the rest of the players also expressed their displeasure over Crlay’s move. There was an atmosphere of tension for a few moments on the field, which made it a topic of discussion. However, it was not against any rule. Many times players do this under strategy. But on social media, Indian fans are criticizing this incident and accusing the England batsman of dishonesty.
