After several weeks of creative assignments, on-ground challenges and the tough process of studio trial, Espncricinfo, in partnership with Nexa, the winner of Espncricinfo Cricketer has been announced. This initiative has been designed as a showcase for cricket fans who desire to become a storyteller on camera. Launched during the Champions Trophy 2025, fans across India were invited to submit a minute video showing their association with the game. The response was tremendous, more than 700 entries came on social platforms.
Cricketer’s winner announcement
Of these submissions, 30 persons were shortlisted based on real sports understanding and on-camera appearance. He made a series of three assignments designed to assess his understanding of cricket, analytical depth and his ability to present his ability to present cricket. An expert panel with the presence of cricket presenter Mayanti Langer, Jatin Sapru and Raunak Kapoor evaluated the participants and elected four finalists.

Operated by the sponsor, Nexa became an integral part of the journey, during the major stages of the competition, Maruti Suzuki was working as a travel partner for the Fronx finalist. After the strict selection process, Nakul Sharma was selected as the winner and made his first appearance in Espncricinfo’s live show on 3 June during the last stage of IPL 2025. 21 -year -old Nakul Sharma is a stage host, percussionist and communication graduate from Faridabad.
