Pakistan recently played a white ball series against the West Indies. He had won the T20 series in his name but he performed very poorly in the ODI series. West Indies won the ODI series 2–1. Pakistani fans and former cricketers are not happy at all with the performance of Pakistan team in this series. Now another name has been added to this list. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has made fun of his own team. He has said that Pakistan will not get a pitch like Rawalpindi everywhere.
Shoaib Akhtar joked
In the third ODI played between the two teams, the West Indies batted first and scored 294 runs losing 6 wickets. Pakistan needed 295 runs to win but he was able to score only 92 runs and West Indies won with 202 runs. Pakistan’s top order failed completely. Captain Mohammad Rizwan, openers Sam Ayub and Abdullah Shafiq could not even open their account while Babar Azam returned to the pavilion after scoring just 9 runs.
Shoaib Akhtar said on the show ‘Game on Hai’ on this performance of Pakistan, “We had aggressive talent and we used to play in the same way. We did not depend on any one player and all the people used to play their role well. Now the atmosphere has changed. In the last 10 to 15 years, everyone is playing for themselves only for themselves. Everyone is playing for themselves. Need and everyone should play like modern cricket.
The former player further said, “Three batsmen in the top 4 were out without opening the account. The question is arising that the level of cricket is playing. If the ball rotates lightly, then there is trouble. Rawalpindi cannot roam everywhere with a pitch.”
The Champions Trophy has been poorly performed
In the Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan did not win even a match. Even after this, he has not been able to show amazing in the ODI series. New Zealand won 3–0 in the ODI series against Pakistan, while now the West Indies also defeated them 2–1.
