Foreign Players Leave IPL 2025 : he progress of IPL 2025 was temporarily suspended amid increased tensions and military activities between India and Pakistan. Suspension occurred after transfrontier hostilities increased earlier this week, causing safety concerns in several Indian cities. As a result, foreign players from all ten IPL teams began to return to their respective countries, although the BCCI instructed them to remain waiting.
According to sources, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) informed all foreign players and the support team that the tournament can resume in full progress within a week, depending on how the geopolitical situation evolves.
A day after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) played Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, KKR players – including Caribbean Stars Rovman Powell, Sunil Narine, and Andre Russell – benefited from their India matches. The southern-southern duo Anrich Nortje and Quinton de Kockand the rest of KKR’s rest and foreign support team also left the country shortly thereafter.
KKR is not the only affected franchise. Players from other teams also started leaving India, including those of Punjab Kings (PBKs) and Delhi Capitals (DC), who were trapped in Dharsana after their last match. Both teams were safely transported to Delhi before foreign players began their trips back.
Despite the mass departure, the BCCI did not completely cancel the tournament. Reliable sources suggest that communication was sent to all foreign franchises and players asking them to be prepared for a quick resumption. There is a strong possibility that the IPL 2025 can restart within a week.
Meanwhile, speculation is full of social media about the new tournament programming. Some reports suggest that correspondence may resume next week, with accessories hosted in relatively safe places such as Kolkata and Select Cities in southern India.
In a significant development on Saturday night, India and Pakistan declared a cease -Fogo, with military operations stopped until at least May 12. This has provided a radius of hope for cricket fans across the country, many of whom are eager to see IPL’s action.
If the cease -Fogo maintains and the situation are stabilized, it is expected that BCCI can launch a revised IPL program in the coming days, bringing relief to fans, broadcasters and franchises.
