Gautam Gambhir Calls for Complete Severance of Ties with Pakistan After Pahalgam Terror Attack
Gautam Gambhir on Pahalgam Terror Attack : Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has strongly voiced his opinion in the aftermath of the lethal Pahalgam terror attack. On Tuesday, May 6, Gambhir stated that India should sever all ties with Pakistan to give the right response to the assault that killed 26 harmless civilians. This marks the first time the former India opener has spoken publicly about the difficulty for that reason, that incident.
“No Platform for Competition Until Pakistan Ends Terrorism”: Gambhir
Gambhir was uneven in his stance that there should be no cricketing or sporting relations between India and Pakistan on any platform, because it does not stop sheltering and supporting terrorism on its land until the Asia Cup or ICC tournament. “We have not played a bilateral chain with Pakistan since 2007,” he said. Now, the time has come for the ICC tournament to expand it. “
He said, “I strongly believe that we should not play against Pakistan at all. As long as Pakistan continues to support terrorism, there should be no India-Pakistan match. Will India Play Pakistan in the Asia Cup?
Speaking on the ABP India @2047 Summit, Gambhir was requested whether or not India need to face Pakistan in the imminent Asia Cup. In reaction, he clarified that it isn’t always in his hands to determine, but he shared his non-public view: “Whatever selection the government makes, I will stand by it.”
This year’s Asia Cup is scheduled to be hosted by using India, even as Pakistan has already expressed its unwillingness to journey to India.
