In the five -match Test series between England and India, young player Abhimanyu Ishwan has not got a chance. All the people hoped that Abhimanyu would get a chance at Kennington Oval but Karun Nair was replaced in the playing 11. The Indian player was first included in the India Test team in December 2022. Since then, Abhimanyu has been eagerly waiting for his Test debut. Ever since Abhimanyu has been included in the Test team, 15 players have made their debut. Despite this, Abhimanyu was not given a chance even once. His father Ranganathan Ishwar is very disappointed with this and he has asked strict questions from Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir.
Abhimanyu’s father lashed out at Gill-Gambhir
Abhimanyu’s father Ranganathan Ishwaran said, ‘I am not counting the days of Abhimanyu’s Test debut. I have been counting for years, now it has been three years. What is the job of a player? Making runs. He has done that. People said that he did not perform well in two matches of India A in the last tour of Australia and could not make a place in the team, which is also right. But when Abhimanyu performed well before BGT, Karun Nair was not in the team during that time. Karun was not selected for the Dalip Trophy or the Iranian Trophy. If you look at the period from last year till this year, then Abhimanyu has scored about 864 runs.
His father further said, ‘Some players are included in the Test team after seeing their IPL performance. Seeing the performance of the IPL, the Test team should not be selected at all, but it should be selected only by looking at the performance of Ranji Trophy, Dilip Trophy and Iranian Trophy. My son is a bit sad but it is natural to happen.
