ICC made a big announcement about Shubman Gill (photo- PTI)
Indian team captain Shubman Gill performed brilliantly in the five -match Test series against England. He was the highest run -scorer in this series. This is the reason why he has now been nominated for a special ICC award. The ICC revealed about this nomination after the Test series played between India and England which includes three players. One of these three players is also Shubman Gill.
Shubman Gill Nominate
The ICC has revealed the nominee of ICC Men Player of the Month July 2025. Three players have been included in this list. Apart from Shubman Gill, England Test team captain Ben Stokes and South Africa’s Dhakad all -rounder Vian Mulder have also been nominated.
Talking about Shubman Gill, he scored 567 runs in three Tests against England in July at an average of 94.50. He scored 269 runs in the first innings of the second Test match played against England at Edgbaston while he scored 161 runs in the second innings. Not only this, he scored 103 runs in the fourth Test, due to which Team India draws the match against England. So far Gin has won the ICC Player of the Month Award three times. He earlier won the award on January 2023, September 2023 and February 2025. Now his eyes will be on winning this award for the fourth time.
Talking about Vian Mulder of South Africa, he scored 531 runs at an average of 265.50 while batting in a two -match Test series against Zimbabwe. He scored 147 runs in the second innings of the first Test match, while in the second Test match, he captained the South Africa team and played a 367 notout innings. Mulder is the highest individual score in Test cricket for South Africa. Apart from this, he also showed amazing performance in bowling and took 7 wickets. He took four wickets hall in the first Test match. Due to his best all -round performance, Mulder also won the Player of the Series Award.
Ben Stokes was also nominated
England Test team captain Ben Stokes performed strongly in the Test series against India. He played three Test matches in the month of July in which experienced players scored 251 runs at an average of 50.20 and took 12 wickets at an average of 26.33. Stokes also won the Player of the Match Award in Lord’s and Manchester Tests.
