ICC Test Ranking: England star batsman Joe Root has become the number one batsman again in the latest Test rankings of ICC. He has removed his compatriot Harry Brook and captured the number one chair. Harry Brook became the number one batsman last week. But in the ranking of the new Test batsmen on July 16, now he has moved directly to number 3 from number 1. Shubman Gill is also not very good in the new rankings of Test batsmen.
How did the root take away the king?
Joe Root’s ranking is the result of his good performance in Lord’s Test against India. In the Lord’s Test, Joe Root scored 144 runs, including both innings. In this, he scored 104 runs in the first innings, scoring a century. While in the second innings, the route was dismissed for 40 runs.
Like Joe Root in Lord’s Test, there was nothing special with Harry Brook’s bat. He scored only 34 runs including both innings. This includes 11 runs of the first innings and 23 runs scored in the second inning.
Ken Williamson climbed second
New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has come second in the ranking of ICC’s latest Test batsmen. They have 867 rating points. Whereas Joe Route is occupied on number one position with 888 rating points. At the same time, Harry Brook has 862 rating points to slip from first place.
Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s condition bad
The condition of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal of India is also not very good in the new ICC Test rankings. While Yashasvi Jaiswal is on the verge of being out of the top 5, Shubman Gill is seen in danger of going out of the top 10.
In the new Test rankings, Steve Smith has captured Yashasvi Jaiswal at number 5. At the same time, Shubman Gill has fallen 3 places to number 9. Rishabh Pant has also suffered a loss of one place in the new rankings. He has now come from 7th to 8th.
