The order of the Calcutta High Court is being discussed in the case of Team India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami and wife Haseen Jahan, who is living separately. Even before the formalities of the divorce of this couple, who have been living separately for the last several years, the High Court has ordered the Indian pace to live. The High Court, after hearing the ongoing case between the two sides, made it clear in an order that Haseen Jahan will have to give Haseen Jahan as a maintenance of Rs 4 lakh every month from cricketer Shami. While Haseen Jahan has described this decision as his victory, it has also described the amount as very low.
Team India’s pacer Shami and his wife Haseen Jahan are different for the last about 7 years. Haseen Jahan had complained against Shami in 2018 and accused him of cheating and harassment against his family. Even Haseen Jahan had accused Shami of match fixing and illegal relations with other women. Since then, both are living separately. However, during this time the daughter of both is living with Haseen Jahan. In this case, Hasin Jahan appealed to the court and appealed to Shami to be given Rs 10 lakh as maintenance.
‘Inflation has increased, 4 lakhs are less’
In this case, now the Calcutta High Court has ordered Indian cricket to give an allowance of Rs 4 lakh per month. Out of this allowance, two and a half lakh rupees are fixed for the daughter and one and a half lakh rupees for Hasin Jahan. But Haseen Jahan has also described this amount as less. Shami’s ex -wife called the verdict her victory but said that this amount is less in the era of inflation. In a statement, Hasin Jahan said, “The living amount is decided on the basis of husband’s earnings and social status … Looking at Shami’s magnificent lifestyle, I believe that 4 lakh rupees are very low. We had demanded 10 lakh rupees, which was 7 years and 4 months ago. Now inflation has increased.”
Mohammed Shami’s poor era
At the same time, the court has also made it clear that the divorce action should be settled as soon as possible. This decision of the court for Shami is another shock in his recent days. Already Star Pacer is going through a poor round of his career. After being out due to injury for nearly a quarter of a year, Shami returned to international cricket earlier this year and helped Team India win the Champions Trophy. But due to poor IPL season and fitness problem, he was not selected for the tour of England.
