Team India, who had reached very close to winning against England in Lord’s Test match, lost by 22 runs. In this match, a dangerous plan of England has surfaced, which he made against fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, as Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were taking the team towards victory by making a significant partnership for the ninth wicket on the fifth day of the match. This caused England camp and captain Ben Stokes and fast bowler Joffra Archer injured Bumrah and made a dangerous plan to win the match. This has been revealed by former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif.
Mohammad Kaif claims
Speaking on his YouTube channel, former Team India cricketer Mohammad Kaif claimed that Bumrah and Jadeja had raised England’s concern by chasing a target of 193 runs in Lord’s Test match by sharing 35 runs for the ninth wicket. During this time, the hosts deliberately raised bouncers to injure Bumrah and injured them.
The former Indian cricketer alleged that captain Ben Stokes and fast bowler Jofra Archer believed that if he could not dismiss Bumrah, then at least he could hurt him before the fourth Test in Manchester. Bumrah scored 5 runs in 54 balls in the second innings. He along with Ravindra Jadeja added 35 runs in 22 overs to bring the team closer to victory.
There was a plan to injure the shoulder or finger
Kaif further said, “Stokes and Archer were planning to throw a bouncer against Bumrah. They wanted to injure Bumrah’s shoulder or finger”. During this time, a ball of Archer was on Bumrah’s finger, but it was not a serious injury. However, this plan of England came to work and Bumrah became a victim of stokes by playing a wrong shot.
Will Bumrah play in Manchester?
Even before the Test series started against England, it was clear that Jasprit Bumrah would play only three Test matches. In such a situation, now the question is arising whether Bumrah will play the fourth Test match in Manchester or not. However, cricket experts are appealing to play him in the fourth match.
Talking to Giostar, former India head coach Anil Kumble said that the absence of Bumrah will make India’s defeat decide and we will lose the series too. He said, “If I were a part of the team management, I would definitely ask Bumrah to play the next match, because it is necessary. If he does not play and then you lose the Test match then everything will be over. I think I think Bumrah should play both the last Test matches”.
