In the next few weeks, every Indian cricket fan will be eyeing TV. There will be only one wish in the heart- Team India somehow beat England in the Test series. Also, it will be expected that batsmen like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul score a lot of centuries. Whether it will happen or not, it will be known in the coming days. But the Indian batsman who was seen scoring a century in England, was very close to his century, the Indian team stopped it. This happened in the match of India A and England Lions with spin all -rounder Tanush Kotian.
Before the five -Test series, a separate Test series was being played between the team of both countries in England itself. The second match of this series of 2 informal Test matches between India A and England Lions ended on Monday 9 June in Northampton. Like the first match, this four -day match also ended on the draw itself. Some batsmen performed strongly for Team India in both innings of this match. Opener KL Rahul scored a great century in the first innings, but in the second innings when Tanush Kotian did not get this good fortune.
An innings declared just 10 runs first
On the last day of the match, 6 wickets fell on 253 runs in India A’s second innings when Kotian stepped on the crease as the number eight batsman. Like this spinner-all-rounder domestic cricket, he also proved his usefulness by batting here. The Mumbai player scored a great half -century and brought the team to 400 runs. When Kotian returned unbeaten on 90 runs during T-Breck, it was expected that when the last session started, he would be given a chance to complete a century quickly but it did not happen. The team management declared the innings as soon as the new session started and Tanush missed his century by just 10 runs.
For the first time a century is scored abroad
The 26 -year -old Kotian returned unbeaten after scoring 90 runs in just 108 balls, which included 10 fours and 1 six. If he had completed his century, it would have been the third century of his first class career. But this would have been special because for the first time he would score these centuries out of India and in a series apart from the Ranji Trophy-Irani Trophy. Nevertheless, he, along with Anshul Kamboj, who came at number 9, took a great partnership of 149 runs and brought the team to 417 runs. Kamboj also played a strong innings of 51 runs. In the second innings, England Lions had 32 runs for 3 wickets, when the match ended on a draw.
