A big issue in Edgbaston Test was whether Jaspreet Bumrah will play or not. The toss was done, the team announced that Bumrah remained out of the second Test despite being fit. Kumar Sangakkara raised questions
Talking on Sky Sports, Kumar Sangakkara said, ‘It is important to see how and who has taken the decision. Decisions are taken by asking the players or from the physio? Is Lords more important than the Test series? The series is on the line and England is ahead in it. England won the first Test by 5 wickets. So I hope that the coach should have gone to Bumrah and had said that you can play the third and fifth Test but the first two will have to participate. If you can also play the third Test, then it will be a very good thing and then you will have two weeks to play the last match.
Kumar Sangakkara further said, ‘Team India’s Test record has been very bad since last September and he has suffered defeat in 7 matches. In the last 9 matches, he has suffered defeat in 7 while a match team has won and has been a draw. The team needs to improve their performance. There will be pressure on them and that is why the team has made three changes in the second Test.
England is ahead in Test series
In addition to Jaspreet Bumrah in the playing XI of the second Test match, there have been two more major changes in addition to Jaspreet Bumrah. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and Sai Sudarshan have been excluded while Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep and Washington Sundar have been included. England have won in the first Test match and they are ahead 1-0 in the 5 match Test series.
