Rahul-Jaiswal created history on the first day in Leeds, the biggest partnership of 73 years | KL Rahul Yashasvi Jaiswal partnership record

KL Rahul Yashasvi Jaiswal partnership record :

Leaving behind all the claims, apprehensions and fear, Team India made a strong start of the tour of England. On the very first day of the first Test match against England, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a partnership for Team India, which created history. In this match started in Handingley, Team India came out to bat first and in the first session of this series, Rahul-Jayaswal made a new Indian record by making a great partnership of 91 runs.

This series of 5 Test matches started from Friday 20 June, which was also the beginning of captain Shubman Gill’s captaincy. However, Gill was disappointed in the toss and Team India had to come down for the first batting. Now it is not hidden from anyone that batting first in England is always considered the most difficult challenge. Especially for the opening batsmen, the new ball swing proves to be crooked but Rahul and Jaiswal faced this challenge well and made a record.

The biggest partnership in 73 years

In the first session of the Test match, Rahul and Jaiswal faced England fast bowlers firmly and shared a great partnership of 91 runs. Just before the lunch break, Rahul was hunted by Bridan Cars. But before this, he created history with Jaiswal. The 91 -run partnership between the two set a new record of the biggest opening partnership from India on the Leeds ground.

India played the first Test in 1952 on this ground and thus it became India’s biggest partnership in 73 years. Earlier, this record was named after Sunil Gavaskar and K Srikanth, who shared a 64 -run partnership at this ground in 1986. Now this record has been in the name of Rahul and Jaiswal, who has continued their opening partnership in England after Australia.

This was the first session of Leeds Test

As far as the first session is concerned, it looked completely leaning towards India. Rahul and Jaiswal’s partnership had increased the difficulties of England. But England returned just before the session was over. In the last two overs of this session, Team India lost two consecutive wickets. The first cars dismissed Rahul on a score of 42 runs. Then the young batsman Sai Sudarshan, who was making his Test debut in the next over, was dismissed without opening the account. In this way, Team India scored 92 runs losing 2 wickets in this session.
