So far, a total of 1,044 villages have been affected, the maximum 321 villages in Gurdaspur, followed by Kapurthala (115), Hoshiarpur (94), Amritsar (88) and Pathankot (82). Gurdaspur is the most affected district. Where about 1.45 lakh people have been affected. Other seriously affected districts include Amritsar (35000), Ferozepur (24015) and Fazilka (21562). To assist in relief and rescue operations, the government has deployed several agencies.
