The day of Saturday 7 June was very special for the country and the world. The festival of Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with great pomp on Saturday, including India. There was a lot of enthusiasm about this second major Eid coming in the year known as ‘Bakrid’. On this occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, one of the major days of Islam religion, people congratulated each other. But apart from the common people, Indian cricket veterans like Mohammed Shami, Irfan Pathan congratulated their fans through special messages.
Indian players gave special message
Veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who is out of Team India, shared a video on his social media account and has given a lot of best wishes to the fans on Bakrid. He said that this year was very good for everyone. Shami also told her fans to celebrate this festival with everyone. Mohammed Shami was seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recently ended IPL 2025.
Apart from Mohammed Shami, Irfan Pathan has also wished fans on this special festival with his family members. Talking about Irfan Pathan, he retired from professional cricket on 4 January 2020.

Mohammed Shami was not included in the England tour team
Mohammed Shami’s performance has been very good in international cricket and he has won many matches to Team India while bowling well. But the recent form and fitness have not been in his favor. His performance in IPL 2025 was very poor and now he has not got a place on the Indian team’s tour of England. Shami was part of Team India on the last England tour and played an important role in the success achieved in that series. However, for the last one and a half years, he has been troubled by injury, after which his bowling has not seen the same edge as before. This is why he was not selected for the tour of England this time.
