The Mumbai player has been made the captain of India’s mixed disability cricket team. This team will play a 7 -match T20 series against England. The third T20 match between these two teams will be played at Lord’s Stadium on 25 June. The cricketing journey of this Mumbai player has been very difficult. He had a paralyzed attack in his childhood, but despite this he did not give up and performed tremendously in Mumbai’s top local tournament. Due to his performance, Ravindra Gopinath Sant completed the journey from Dobivali to Lord’s.
Ravindra Gopinath Sant’s cricketing journey
In his early days, Ravindra Gopinath Sant used to go from Dombivali to Virar to train. Its distance is 116 kilometers. He used to take training from Ravindra Patil, assistant and fielding coach of India’s Mixed Disability Team. Patil never left Santa and told him about very important things. The Indian captain performed very well in his training.
Let me tell you, when Ravindra Gopinath was just 6 months old, he was paralyzed due to two wrong injections of the doctor, but despite this, this experienced player worked hard and now he has been made the captain of the Indian Mixed Disability Cricket Team. Ravindra Gopinath Sant himself revealed that he had received a lot of encouragement by seeing former India all -rounder Yuvraj Singh, who won the war with major illness like cancer.
Ravindra Gopinath Sant revealed
Ravindra Gopinath Sant told that I started playing leather ball cricket from KV Pendharkar College. I grew up in Dombivali and we did not have enough thing that today’s players get. I scored a half -century in a college match and my cricketing journey started from there. I did not know at all about whether there is anything like disability cricket or not.
One day the local corporator hosted an exhibition match for players like us and I met Ravi Patil Sir. After that, I used to go by train in Sainath Cricket Club Virar for 2 to 3 years continuously, after which I was selected in the Maharashtra team and then I also got a place in Team India.
This team will match
Talking about the Indian Mixed Disability Team, he has to play a double header match in Bristol on 1 July, in which he will play a match against the Indian women’s team in England. This match will be broadcast live in India while all matches will be streamted in Sony Live in India.
