Bangladesh has strengthened its grip in the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Gaul ground. After three wickets fell for 45 runs, captain Najmul Hasan Shanto took over the team with wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and moved towards a big score. During this time, Mushfiqur Rahim has also hit the 12th century of his career after a century of peace. He completed his century with the help of 5 fours in 176 balls. This is his second century in Sri Lanka. He has hit both centuries in this ground. Earlier, Rahim scored a brilliant double century in the year 2013. He scored 200 runs against Sri Lanka.
6 centuries on foreign soil
Bangladesh’s most experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has done wonders by hitting a century against Sri Lanka. He has scored a century in Sri Lanka after 12 years. Apart from this, this is his sixth century on foreign soil. He is the first Bangladesh batsman to score the most centuries on foreign soil. Apart from this, he is only behind Mominul Haq in terms of scoring the most centuries in Test cricket from Bangladesh. Mominul Haq has scored 13 centuries in Test cricket. Bangladesh has strengthened his grip against Sri Lanka with the help of Shantas and Mushfiqur Rahim’s brilliant century.
Bangladesh hit two centuries on the first day
By the end of the first day of the first Test match against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh has scored 292 runs for three wickets. Captain Najmul Hasan is playing 136 runs in 260 balls with the help of a six and 14 fours, while wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is giving 105 runs well with the help of five fours in 186 balls. Both these batsmen have so far shared 247 runs for the fourth wicket. Tharindu Rathnayake, who made his debut for Sri Lanka, has taken two wickets. Apart from this, Asitha Fernando has got one wicket.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Bangladesh did not have a good start to bat first and his first wicket fell on the score of 5 runs. Anemul Haq could not even open his account.
