A big decision has been taken regarding the Maharaja T20 League to be organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association. This time this tournament will be played at Wadayar Stadium in Mysore instead of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. This decision has been taken due to lack of permission from the Bangalore Police for the tournament. The tournament will be played from 11 to 28 August, but it is disappointing for the fans that it will be held behind the closed doors, that is, without fans.
This decision was taken due to this
In fact, after the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB )’s IPL victory in June this year, the stampede around Chinnaswamy Stadium has increased security concerns. In this accident, 11 people were killed and more than 50 people were injured. Subsequently, an inquiry committee constituted by the state government termed the stadium as ‘unsafe’ for large events and suggested that such events should be transferred to more suitable places. After this incident, two KSCA officials also resigned by taking moral responsibility.
Due to this incident, KSCA had decided to organize the first tournament without fans, but now it has been completely sifted by Mysore. This change has increased challenges for franchise owners. Actually, most teams were practicing at different places in Bangalore, except Mysore Warriors. On the other hand, fast preparations are being made for the tournament at Wadayar Stadium in Mysore.
Tournament will be played between 6 teams
A total of 6 teams will participate in the Maharaja T20 League. Which includes defending champions Mysore Warriors, Bangalore Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Gulbarga Mistics, Shivamogga Lions and Mangaluru Dragons. At the same time, star players like famous Krishna, Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, Abhinav Manohar, Shreyas Gopal and Manish Pandey will also be seen playing in this league.
