For some players of Team India, the tour of England has been excellent according to private performance. Captain Shubman Gill is at the top of it. Apart from him, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja showed continuity and impressed everyone. But the player whose discussion was reduced, is young all -rounder Washington Sundar, who played an important role in getting a match draw with a memorable century in the Manchester Test. But despite this, Washington’s father is upset with one thing and he has demanded a change from Team India.
25-year-old spin-all-rounder Sundar scored a brilliant century in Team India’s second innings on the last day of the Manchester Test. Sundar saved Team India from defeat by making an unbeaten 203 run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja. Sundar hit the last shot of the match, on which he scored his first Test century. On the basis of this century, Sundar’s Team seems to be confirmed in India.
‘My son does not get opportunities’
The left -handed batsman made his Gaba Test debut in 2021 for Team India and played a big role in victory. But since then, Washington could not get regular space in the team due to different reasons and his father M Sundar is angry with this. In an interview after Washington’s century, M Sundar said, “Washington has done well. But people forget it. The rest of the players get constant opportunities but not only my son is available.”
Washington Sundar’s father demands from Team India
Not only this, Sundar even made a demand from Team India. He believes that Washington should get batting at number 5 consecutively. In the second innings, he was promoted at number 5 and he scored a century. Sundar said, “Washington should batting at number five in a row, as it was in the second innings and there should be 5-10 consecutive opportunities.”
Washington did not get a chance in the first Test match and his father was upset. Surprisingly, he advised the selectors that his son’s performance should be monitored. Sundar got a chance in the team from the second Test match and since then he is impressing both fronts. Sundar took 205 runs in 6 innings by the fourth Test and 7 wickets in 5 innings.
